Team UCP Kick-Off Builds Excitement for Cleveland Triathlon!
Despite the promise of blizzard-like conditions, over 125 people gathered at UCP’s Wolstein Center on March 10th to kick-off the agency’s fourth year as the Official Charity of the Cleveland Triathlon! The evening gave Team UCP members the opportunity to network, learn tips and tricks from each other, as well as to visit an array of vendors for the most up-to-date information on fitness, nutrition and equipment.
Team UCP Co-Chairs Meghann Green and John Willse welcomed the crowd and reminded everyone that the event has only grown over the past four years due to the dedication and commitment of the families who participate and build awareness about the race and the agency. From a small group of 65 participants and $100,000 raised in 2008, Team UCP is projected to bring in close to 500 racers, 200 volunteers and over $200,000 this year! An inspirational video illustrated the remarkable accomplishments of the 2010 race and energized attendees to start training and to look forward to warmer weather!
The evening closed up with the introduction of seven of the Team UCP families – all of whom are ready to tackle the Triathlon once again! For more information about Team UCP at the Cleveland Triathlon, visit Team UCP at the Cleveland Triathlon or contact TeamUCP@ucpcleveland.org.
UCP of Greater Cleveland extends a big thank you to the Team UCP Kick-Off Vendors: Bike Authority; Cleveland Clinic Nutritional Services; Euphoria Health and Fitness; Youth Challenge. Thank you to the Team UCP Planning Committee and all the attendees who made the evening a great success. See you at the Finish Line!!!
