Governor Kasich Visits the Cleveland Clinic to Discuss Medicaid Expansion
Ohio Gov. John Kasich spoke at the Cleveland Clinic on Friday, using one of the nation’s best known hospitals to make a final public push for Medicaid expansion. Kasich said he’s optimistic ahead of a legislative panel vote on whether the state will extend Medicaid coverage to more Ohioans under the federal health care law. The expansion would bring in to Ohio approximately $2.56 billion in federal funds for Medicaid expansion and provide medical coverage to roughly 275,000 more Ohioans. UCP of Greater Cleveland President and CEO Trish Otter was present to hear Governor Kasich’s presentation at the Cleveland Clinic.
The acceptance of federal funds and proposed Medicaid expansion will be voted on today, Monday October 21st by the Ohio Controlling Board.
