Vocational Services Welcomes Two New Management Team Members
Amy Vedova joined the UCP of Greater Cleveland team in December 2013 as the Activities and Training Manager. She has her BA in Corporate Communications from Marietta College. She is Activity Director Certified (ADC) through NCCDP and is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP). Before coming to UCP of Greater Cleveland, Amy was the Activity Director at Menorah Park Center for Senior Living in Beachwood for almost 10 years, first in the Adult Day Center and then in long term care. Amy has been published in “A New Day” magazine and “The Activity Director’s Guide.” She presents classes and seminars regularly on activity philosophies and approaches for people with disabilities and dementia at The Institute for Healthcare Education at Menorah Park. She also presented for NAAP in Columbus in 2011 and spoke at the the 2008 NCCDP conference in Orlando as well as the the 2008, 2012 and 2013 RAP conferences in Columbus. Amy has proudly been an activity director and educator for almost 15 years.
Kate Adkins joined the agency in January of this year as Community Employment Manager. She has spent several years in the field working with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings. Her passion for vocational rehabilitation led Kate to complete her Master’s of Rehabilitation Counseling degree from Texas Tech University as well as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor status. Kate enjoys spending her free time cooking and visiting with her nephew and other family.
