The great need for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to receive crucial services remains. Make a gift NOW to support important work being done every day.
For the past four years, Drew Lohn has been working hard to increase his independence and confidence through UCP’s children’s therapy services. A year after starting therapy, Drew’s mom, Jackie, was inspired by posters advertising the triathlon. Thus began the soon to be three years of Team Drew triathlon participation by the Lohn family and many of their good friends. Drew’s Aunt Kay, dubbed the “Rock Star of the family,” runs, bikes, and swims the entire Super Sprint distance. Jackie pushes Drew for the running leg of the Super Sprint, which Drew loves. All of Drew’s practice in therapy pays off each year when he stands up and runs across the finish line. Every time Jackie sees Drew cross the finish line she remembers why she TRIs: “To run, swim, and bike for those who can’t. The kids work so hard everyday that us working hard for the triathlon is the least we can do.”
